To the River, on a Summer Day

On the hottest days of summer, the river naturally becomes the place to be.

Just a few minutes from Kakurekura, a small stream flows quietly through the countryside. When there hasn’t been much rain, the water is calm—perfect for spending a slow summer afternoon.

Cooling your feet in the clear water, catching small ayu fish with a simple net, and later enjoying them as freshly fried tempura.

It’s not a special activity prepared for visitors.

It’s simply one of the ways summer has been enjoyed here for generations.

If you’re wondering how to spend a quiet afternoon, perhaps the river will quietly call you.
